Rufus Newell is an artist who lives and works in Leeds. He is a studio holder at Assembly House and member of Precious Art Collective.

 

Rufus displayed his beautiful pieces of artwork at our Ginger Works launch party in October 2019, until January 2020.

"I use drawing to respond to my surroundings whilst keeping an intuitive grasp on the imaginative world. I find that drawing is a great tool for constant reinvention and rapid expression. I like to overlay and rework images, often sticking drawings directly onto canvas. Recently, I have been inspired by rooms and interiors I have either lived in or imagined"
